DENTAL DISEASE




Ayurveda is effective in the treatment of dental diseases such as dental decay, loosening of teeth, bleeding gums, bad breath, yellow teeth, toothache. Ayurveda recommends  dietary modifications and wide range of herbs for dental problems which include neem, turmeric, clove, banyan, babul and holy basil. Avoid eating soft drinks, refined carbohydrates, and sugar. Eat plenty of raw vegetables, citrus fruits, and green vegetables.
Some Ayurvedic Remedies for Common Dental Problems:
Yellow teeth: Use mixture of salt with finely powdered rind of lime as toothpowder.
Dental decay: Eat food rich in calcium. Eat liberal amount of raw vegetables. Mix mustard oil, turmeric, salt to make a paste and rub it on teeth and gums.
Bleeding gums: Twig of babul and holy basil, neem, banyan, used to clean teeth can help to stop bleeding. Mix alum with mustard oil and massage gums, then rinse your mouth with water mixed with alum. Chewing guava leaves can also help to stop bleeding. Eat plenty of roughage, lemon, citrus fruits, and green vegetables.

Toothache:  cinnamon and clove oil, sesame seeds, are effective for preventing toothache. A garlic with rock salt, pinch of pepper powder mixed with clove oil or a paste of the bark of bay berry prepared with vinegar can relieve toothache.
