Superfoods to Nourish Your Whole Heart







What you eat determines what you are. The healthier you eat, the healthier would be your body. There are no other statements which are better to explain this. For a healthy heart, Ayurveda recommends following a diet that is rich in fresh produce, healthy fats like olive oil and fiber. Below listed are the Ayurveda recommended foods that are healthy for your heart:
1.       Stewed apples or pear in the morning
Eat fruits in the morning as it is considered as the best time of the day to absorb maximum nourishment from any fruit. Eating pear or apples, cooked, in the morning helps in creating ojas which enhances general well-being, immunity, strength and vitality.

2.       Blanched almonds
Almonds are free of cholesterol and offer the daily dose of heart-healthy fats. Considered to be sattvic in nature, it also helps in promoting ojas. Soak and blanch almonds for easy digestion.

3.       Heart-friendly spices
Prepare a mixture of 1 part of ground turmeric, 2 parts of ground cumin, 3 parts of ground coriander and 4 parts of ground fennel. Use this as a topping, sprinkle in soups, or on vegetables in your diet.
